history of the electron microscope by veritasium, which apparently now can zoom enough to see atoms!
I also just watched this, pretty cool!
Another cool thing: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/wi3VUy8nflA fly larva cell division/mitosis.
Looks like we’re watching the same videos ![]()
Go teram!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_fHJIYENdI amateur biologists, amateur neuroscientists…potato potao. lol
Perhaps our goal can be to make a computer that works a million times faster than today on less energy based on the connections in our brain.
Probably the best and most detailed explanation of the glial cells, I have ever seen:
In general, I found this channel only yesterday and I’m glued to it.
He had me at ‘glia’. lol
I didn’t know of this channel before…now either but it looks niiiiice! Thanks.
Quite a late reply, but you can actually join the project and help them with the tracing and fixing mergers
They also have a fish dataset for those interested.
All you have to do is to fill the form and wait a few hours for the acceptance. Out of curiosity I did it and I have already proofread 2 pyramidal neurons (in breaks between annotating BANC cells
).
cool! Thanks. Do they have a way of declaring completed cells like the light-bulb and/or BANC bot or a gsheet or something?
Unfortunately, no or at least, I didn’t find any such info. You just get the access to the datasets and do what you wish, lol.
It’s amazing how similar mouse cortex neurons and Human ones are.
It’s great to see the community’s work being used to make progress in science and understanding! And it’s one of KK’s favorites, T4 cells ![]()
