Bugs, glitches and things not working as they should

PS. Also, there might be a brief update tomorrow or on Monday to play.pyr.ai to fix some of the odd things like Find Path not working, the setting that automatically shows the skeletons in the 3D mesh, etc.

Will let you know if I get more info!

Will this mean that during the update process play.pyr will be down/non-playable?

Chris has indicated that there should not be any downtime for the update

i am getting a weird bug where 2d get complitly black far away from the edge, do not look like a normal slow loading problem

lots of this error in the console

frontend.js:295 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ā€˜chunkManagerā€™)
at updateChunk (frontend.js:295:1)
at RPC. (frontend.js:313:1)

sorry i refreshed and no longer have the bug. but pretty sure it isnĀ“t some thing i have done since this is the second time today i have seen that bug, and first time i pullled a old link to get a fresh page in case it was something i had done.

Iā€™m having the same problem from time to time. Unfortunately, link wonā€™t help, because after a refresh, the problemā€™s gone (for a while), as annkri said.

I get that as well, or at least iā€™ve been getting it today ish.

Way it happens to me is:

  1. copy id from gsheet
  2. paste neuroglancer
  3. finish corresponding cell(s)
  4. Copy corresponding Cell ID(s)
  5. Paste in gsheet
  6. Copy & paste new ID from gsheet to Neuroglancer

It happens, all 2D turns fully black no matter where/how far away I scroll until I refresh. And rinse repeat.

The gsheet isnt nesecerally needed just mentioning it as part of the process that I follow, It can happen by C&Pā€™ying any ID to neurog working on it (split/merge) and then pasting a new ID.

Doesnā€™t happen always but usually after a few cells/c&p it will.

I doubt itā€™s a link matter but it may be a settings matter (altho I havent changed them at all other than removing the skeletons from view since I started working in Pyr.) so hereā€™s a link that has had this bug happen:
neuroglancer (and has it currently but idk if itā€™ll still be there once loaded as it probs will count as a refresh).

i have been getting it when almost finished with working on the cell so i dubt is has anything with pasting a id. Unless it is about copying the id from neuroglancer. but looks like it is more often today than yesterday,
it is reminding me about magic mode in ew doing everything in 3d

Same issue here tonight - 2D just deciding to black out, usually when I jump along the neuron to a different area. Also getting the same console error message as annkri.

Thereā€™s also one alert there, between two of the error messages:

rendered_data_panel.js:450 performance warning: READ-usage buffer was read back without waiting on a fence. This caused a graphics pipeline stall.

completePickInternal @ rendered_data_panel.js:450

Same here, total blackout every 10 secs. Have to hard refresh every. Impossible to play for me as i have to refresh kinda 30 times for one ID.

Looking into this, may be be related to a recent update of Pyr

btw if pyr update contained a fix for find path ā€œFā€ missingā€¦itā€™s still missing. (fyi).

If it helps with debugging, it looks like the 2D starts going black around the time the Dev Console gets a whole bunch of ā€œchunk download cancelledā€ errors, which is a new error state. The call stack shows it trying to Free Capacity two functions up so I wonder if the garbage collection is getting too aggressive.

Not sure if something has been done in the last 10 hours or so, but now all unsegmented segments gets fluorescent green when howering over them in 2d. (Very distracting)
The blackout bug still there
Find path looks to be working.

yeah, find path works now!

this exists in BANC as well (at least for me, idk if it happens for anyone else) but in both BANC and now in Pyr for reasons I do not understand why but quite frequently when I split/before/during the Hide Segment ID 0 option in render gets unselected w/o me having unclicked it, Iā€™d like it to stay selected xP

forums wont allow me to upload the vid. directly so hereā€™s a vid. of the thing happening: Recording 2025-02-20 151341.mp4 - Google Drive

This seems to be related to the segment 0 issue that Nseraf mentioned as well. For now youā€™ll just have to keep reclicking the segment 0 box until we can get a fix. Chris is still working out some of the kinks from the recent update so it may take a little bit, but weā€™re aware of these issues! Thanks for your patience!

As I can identify it (and I could be wrong) every time you split something or you select a segment to be split from the rest of the cell (red or blue) and then clear it (button bottom left corner) then in either/both cases the segment ID 0 thingy gets deselected.

But the -perhaps- good thing is that most likely the same bug that affects this in Pyr is most likely the same bug in BANC.
