So bubbly! Do we have a name for these type of structures/neuron ends?

The first of this type of cell ive seen, so far - i couldnt really figure out which it is, the closest I found was a Tm28, but that doesnt split near the bottom. Is there such a thing as a TmY28? (also, it sort of looks like me slouching at my desk all day in this screenshot ;P)
That’s funny, because I have almost identical cell. I’ve triple checked, to see, if we’re working on the same cell ![]()
Yours is yellow, mine - pink.

Yup, you’re right to think it’s a TmY type cell. It’s very close to a TmY9 from the Fischbach paper. The Y part references that it splits like that at the bottom into the lobula and the lobula plate.
Here are a bunch of its friends (I put yours in in yellow so you can compare
): FlyWire
(And yeah, I’m guilty of this posture too… sitting up straight as I type now
)
Ah yup, TmY9 looks like the one indeed, not sure how i skimmed past that one. Awesome, ty ![]()
This one is sooo cool !
Wooo looks like two humans litterally cuddling
Hence the name of the image

Wouldn’t it be cool, if we’d breathe through our brains? ![]()
Reminds me of these things

Another big and beautiful cell. Also started with a very small (2 boutons) fragment.

With cells like that, I’m very happy, we don’t have to check each and every tiny branch (especially in the middle bush) ![]()
I’m also astounded with the AI (and people who wrote it) and its ability to trace such complicated shapes.
Also, if you measure it, it’s about 1mm wide!
Hmm. I wonder what this large area is adjacent to my cell…
Don’t know what its purpose is, but it’s certainly beautiful!
What a beautiful cell!
wow that is super satisfying
